After almost 40 years, the Calgary Golf & Country Club, Western Canada's premier private is in search of its next Head Golf Professional. Established in 1897, CG&CC embodies the highest standards in facilities, programming, and member services.


The next Head Golf Professional of the Calgary Golf & Country Club must be a personable & visible leader who is passionate about the sport of golf and driven to excel.  The club desires a strong communicator for both their membership, staff, and other departments. A natural ability to lead and motivate, coupled with a passion for the game, is essential.

Head Golf Professional

The Position: 

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Golf Operations department. This role requires close collaboration with the management team to ensure the successful administration of club programs and initiatives, aligning with the club's overall philosophy and culture of striving for excellence.

They will be the visible presence for member events, retail, instruction and all day-to-day activities

Some Key Responsibilities (but not a complete list of Job duties) are:

 

Member Experience 
•    Support the Executive Manager implementing the clubs Mission, Vision, and Core Values while collaborating with Management on golf and social opportunities to enhance the club experience. 
•    Grow strong relationships with the Membership ensuring trust and confidence in the operation. 
•    Visible and engaging with members and their guests of all ages.
•    Address member concerns with an educated and professional consistency. 
•    Assist in the on boarding process for new members

Human Resource Management 
•    Support management in creating an engaging workplace culture. 
•    Develop an industry leading on-boarding process for staff.  Maintain a relevant and continuingly evolving Standard Operating Procedure manual. 
•    Timely, pro-active communication with management, members and industry partners  

Finances 
•    Administration of annual operational and capital finances 
•    Pro-actively respond to the financial position and offer creative opportunities for financial success 

Retail 
•    Provide leadership and guidance resulting in memorable retail experiences 
•    Ensure strong inventory control measures are in place
•    Understand the needs of the membership. 

Event Management  
•    Ensure strong inter-departmental planning and execution of the busy fixture card
•    Build constructive relationships with the Men’s, Women’s, Mixed and Junior club representatives to deliver memorable event experiences

PGA Instruction 

•    Work with the Director of Instruction to ensure that there is an advanced Instructional programing for the members of the club of all demographics 
•    Confirm the PGA staff remain engaged with new technology & coaching methods

Desired Qualifications
•    Past experience in Private Clubs
•    A post-secondary education in business or a golf-related program. 
•    5+ Years of leadership in Golf or Hospitality Industry
•    An active participant in the PGA Zone continuing education and engagement initiatives.

Compensation Information

This is a fulltime year-round position, with full benefits.  Salary is $150,000-$175,000 with bonus and lesson revenue available.
